I am now officially a stay at home mom and I am so happy. I know I do not ever really get a break, it is hard work, and mind numbing at times as well. However, it is also very rewarding and I am so lucky to be able to stay home with the kids for awhile. The best day at The Courier-Journal is still not better than the worse day at home with the kiddos. I was very pleased with how well The CJ took it and I think they kind of expectedit . It is just hard to have both parents gone 50 plus hours a week and be able to function. It is also not fair to the kids. I was honored that they asked me if I would consider working part time from home in about 6 months. This is something they have never done before, but they said based on my performance last year and my previous experience they would do what they could to get me back. Who knows if I will take them up on it, but I might consider it in the future.
The kids have been good this week for the most part. We were stuck in the house all day Tues due to snow and that was a little trying for us all, especially Ella. Ella spent most of the day in time out. When that did not work I started taking her toys away and found out real quick that worked. Time out sometimes does not always work. Ella will even tell me, "mommy I will go to time out", just to ruffle my feathers. I really looked forward to Thursday because that is when she goes to school. Ella is loving it. Today when I dropped her off she walked right in and told me bye. I enjoy having some time with just Parker. Parker loves it too because he can be held the entire time.
Parker is changing so much each day. He is trying to hold his head up. He is also starting to smile, which makes my heart melt.
