July 4th weekend

I have to start off the blog with a conversation I am listening to Ella and Brad have right now. (Brad is getting ready to give Ella a bath.)

Ella: Mess

Brad: Honey you were just sitting on the potty. You pee pee on the potty not in the floor.

Ella: Mess daddy mess!

We are by no means even close to getting Ella potty trained. She loves to talk about it and will even sit on the potty a few times a day, but her timing is all wrong. I do not want to push her. I know I just have to work with her, and pushing her will only make it worse. I so wish she would be potty trained before the next baby arrives though.

On to our weekend. We had a great relaxing weekend. Friday we went to a pool party with the Sanford's and Fahey's and Austin. We all had a great time, especially Ella. There were pony rides, blow up bouncey things, and of course swimming. Ella was up way past her bed time, but she was having such a good time that we wanted to let her play. The rest of the weekend we just hung around the house. The weather was terrible pretty much both days. Finally, on Sunday afternoon it stopped raining so we went to the country club for their 4th of July party. Ella was going a little stir crazy in the house I think. It was good to her out and let her play on the playground.

We are looking forward to seeing Julie tomorrow. She has a few appointments in Louisville so she is staying with us tomorrow night.
