On the way home from the picnic.

Riding Barney
Our weekend was filled with playing and more playing. Saturday Ella had a birthday party to go to at Chucky E Cheese and she had a great time. The only problem was she did not want to sit long enough to eat and watch her friend Neia open her gifts. She was too consumed with playing. I was also very surprised that she was not scared of the mouse. Normally any type of dress up character scares her to death. Not sure why a 6ft tall dancing rat would not do the same thing.
After we all got up from our naps we went to a Catholic Picnic. This is the first one I have ever been to and let me just say it is more like a carnival than a picnic. They had at least 5 blow up bouncey things, which Ella loved. There was also lots of good food, gambling tables, and of course beer trucks. Not growing up Catholic this was different for me. I am not use to seeing beer trucks at a church gathering. I am also not use to seeing thousands of people either. Lauren and I both won a cake at one of the gambling tables. With us both being pregnant we were very happy about our winnings. Ella played until she was so exhausted she could not even hold her head up. We all had a blast.
Brad and I are so amazed at how much Ella is growing up. She has now started telling me what she wants to wear. Some times this is a battle I will let her win, but other times I want Ella to be my little sweet girl in pig tails and pretty dresses. Ella however wants to wear her red Elmo shirt, no shoes, and no pants. She was outside playing and Brad looks at me and says have we become white trash, because Ella was running around with her Elmo shirt half on and wearing only a diaper. My answer is I do not think we have become white trash, but I am just too tired and too pregnant to fight the battle and deal with the meltdown. So if you see our child half dressed just know Ella won and mommy has been defeated for now. I will soon return!
