Valentines Weekend

Ella had her first celebration on Friday at school. It was our turn to bring in the cookies. Ella chose pink frosted cookies with sprinkles and juice boxes. We also provided treat bags, which were mostly full of candy because that is what Ella wanted. I am sure the parents were hating me. Friday Brad took the kids to dinner so I could have an hour or so to myself.  That started my Valentines celebration! Mine continued on Saturday with a nice dinner out and no kids. Ella loved that Sarah was coming over to play. I hear they ate lots of popcorn and watched cartoons. Both kids were in bed asleep when we got home. Kudos to Sarah for getting them both in bed.

Sunday we got up early went to church and then headed to the zoo. It was beautiful here today and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.  Ella loved having daddy at the zoo with her. We have a yearly membership so in the spring and summer we probably go at least once a week, but it is always with friends. Do not get wrong Ella loves going with her friends, but she was excited to tell daddy about all the different animals. Parker also loved it. Last year he was too little to really notice the animals, but today he was watching them and was very curious.  Parker also loved just strolling around.

We just got finished watching our wedding video of pictures that we played at our rehearsal dinner. WOW we looked young and SKINNY!!  Ella loved screaming out everyone she saw. Especially mommy and daddy.  It made me a little sad to see pictures of Papaw Cox, Papaw Red, and Dad.  So glad we have videos like this to watch and remember that wonderful day. I enjoyed watching it with Ella and then thinking WOW here I sit in the burbs with 2 kids, a dog, a wonderful husband, and a beautiful home. What a great life.

I have to congratulate my best friend Ellen for completing her second marathon today supporting Breast Cancer. What an accomplishment and truly amazing.
