I knew it was a matter of time with everything going around that Ella would catch the stomach bug. Monday was my first day working at the YMCA. I thought how great I can bring the kids with me to work and I get out of the house a few hours each week, while making a little money. Well, maybe not a great idea. 2 hours into working Ella pukes all over the floor and we have to come home. She was whiny and DEMANDING all day. She started to feel so much better toward the afternoon, but quickly realized as long as she felt bad I would jump when she called for me and I would sit on the couch and rub her for hours so of course she abused me. I cleaned and lysoled everything in the house in fear that Parker would get it, but so far we have all escaped. Tuesday she was back to her old self, but we still stayed home in our pj's and watched lots of TV and played.
I am so grateful to be home with the kids. Days when they are sick it is so nice to not have to worry about calling into work and just being able to nurture my kids back to health. Brad was always great and took many days off when I was working to take care of them, but as a mother it is so hard to not be there. Kids need their mommy when they are sick and as an adult I still need that. I guess some things never change.
Ella has turned into miss little DIVA. Sometimes I can not help but laugh at some of the things that she says, but many times I just cringe thinking how she can already be acting like this and scared at what the future holds.
I was cooking dinner this and she put her hands on her hips and says "I shall not eat what you are cooking." I respond "ok but I am not a short order cook so I guess you will be hungry". She waits a few minutes and says, I am hungry I have to eat. UMMM no you do not. Of course, I made her a peanut butter and jelly. She then told me thanks for cooking dinner even though she did not like it. I guess it is good to be appreciated.
Parker is taking a few steps here and there, but I would not consider it walking. He realizes he is much faster crawling. He is saying momma, da da, Ella, Bailey, Ball, Bye, dah(which is dog). He is also doing alot of screaming at Ella. He has officially gotten over her dominating him and he can hold his own. Ella constantly says Parker did this or that. I can not stand a tattle tell unless someone is hurt of course. I think more than anything Ella is starting to realize she can no longer rule the roost.
