I have so much to talk about from this past weekend. I am going to break it up into segments.
Friday we gave Parker and Ella a bath together. Normally, we do not do this because last time I tried it Ella dumped water in his face and Parker flipped out, but I thought we would give it another shot. Parker loved taking a bath with his sister and they both had fun playing and splashing. I loved them taking a bath together as well because Brad is always on bath duty for Ella and if Parker is in the bath with her that means he is on bath duty for them both.
Saturday the YMCA pool opened so we headed there so Ella could show off her new swimming skills and to introduce Parker to the pool for the first time. They both did exceptionally well. Parker loved sitting on the steps and splashing his feet. Ella hated the water at his age, but he loves it. There is also thousands of kids running around for him to watch. Ella was a little timid at first, but after a few minutes she was running around like crazy and going down the kiddie slides. It is going to be a fun, but exhausting summer for us. No point in even having a chair because I walk around the whole time with Parker in my arms watching Ella. Luckily, the pool at the YMCA does not really have a deep end. Ella can touch through out most of it so that makes it much safer. However, when Brad is not with me I will still have a life jacket on her.
Sunday was a very special day for Brad and I both. I was confirmed into the Episcopal Church and Brad was reaffirmed. Basically, he did it just for me. We had to go through a few classes. This morning along with many other people we had to confirm our intentions and the Bishop then confirmed us. I think this is a great example for the kids. Ella stood at the altar with us, as well as, Parker. Ella was good for some of the time, but started to get a little antsy toward the end Parker also puked on Brad's suit right before. We did it though with 2 kids in tow. The minister commented on Ella's face when the Bishop confirmed me. She was just starring and watching closely. No clue what was going on I am sure. She did tell us she saw Jesus today - so I guess she thinks the Bishop is Jesus. Who knows....
Other big news is Parker is in his bed and is not swaddled. He keeps breaking out of it and then gets mad so I thought lets try not using it. He is sleeping on his stomach though. He can roll from his stomach to his back and almost sit up so I thought it was ok to place him on his stomach. Talked to a few other moms and they seem to think it should be ok. Hopefully tonight will be a success and we will finally sleep for the first time in 6 months or at least I can wish.
