The fall is my favorite time of year and October is very special. My wedding anniversary is this week. I found out I was pregnant in October as well. Nothing can top those special happenings. Every year when I start to feel a chill in the air and see the leaves turn I remember how great fall is. This weekend was no exception. Brad's parents came into town on Friday and are here through tomorrow. Saturday we went to Huber's Orchard and Winery. The last time I was there was for a party Brad's parents were throwing us before we got married. The party was fun, but nothing tops watching Ella have such a good time. Her favorite part was the tractor pull to the pumpkin patch. All I could think about was how proud Papa Red would be knowing Ella loved the tractor and wishing he was still here to take her on a tractor ride. She would have loved his farm! Once we got to the pumpkin patch we let Ella loose and she ran around like a wild woman. We found the perfect pumpkin and back on the tractor we went. The minute we set down she started smiling from ear to ear. We then sat outside and enjoyed some wonderful wine and cheese, and Brad and I took turns chasing Ella around the place. Bill and Susie have been going here for years and years. I think this will turn out to be a tradition for Brad, Ella and I for along time to come.
Ella is going to be country girl after all. We may not have the farm or the cows in our back yard, but all we have to do is drive down our street to see horses and cows. Deer have even popped up in our back yard. I loved Atlanta, but I am really enjoying Louisville and am so glad Ella can grow up in a smaller place. Whoever thought I would say that?
I can not stop thinking about how proud Papa Red would be. I told Brad I know he was smiling on Saturday watching Ella on the tractor and running through the farm.
Ella is home with Bill and Susie today I am sure having a blast. We are so glad they could come and visit and we could spend a wonderful fall weekend with them.
