Mom and Melinda arrived into town Friday evening. Ella was literally bouncing off the walls, or should I say the table, to see them. She was running and fell backwards and at first we thought it was only a bump. However when I picked her up the back of her head was gushing blood. I did not realize how bad a cut on your head could bleed. All the blood made it look so much worse that what it was. I was trying to keep it together but shedded a tear or two myself. We all rushed in the car and to the ER we went. (Second ER trip in less than a month.) When we got there they cleaned the cut and it was very small but did require two sutures. Ella took it like a champ and within minutes of getting bandaged up she was asking for hot dogs and to go see Nana. At first Brad and I said we would sell our tickets because there was no way I was leaving my baby girl after having stitches. However we got up the next morning and Ella was running around like nothing happened. She told Daddy to go to work and for mommy to go away. She wanted Nana to herself. Mom insisted we go, so we went.
We had a wonderful time with friends and could not have asked for better weather. We had brunch that morning and then spent the entire day at the track. We even won some money! It was so nice to spend a day with adults doing adult things. Brad and I enjoyed our self so much. We even commented we actually got some pictures of us together for a change and we were dressed up. That does not happen too often. I can not thank Mom and Melinda enough for taking care of the kids. Ella is always so sad to see her go. She cried and whined a little but we diverted her attention with a trip to get ice cream and chicken nuggets. She was still asking for Nana when we got back. It breaks my heart. Luckily, Nana will be back in a few weeks for Parker's baptism.
