We had a great weekend. The Lesshafft boys left for Chicago Friday morning to have their annual boys weekend. They went to a Cubs game and ate lots of great food. Susie stayed with Ella and I while they were there and we had a fun, busy weekend. Friday Ella played hooky from school all day and stayed home with Susie. They sang lots of songs and read many books. Ella learned to say "ba ba" like a sheep. Her new favorite song is Old McDonald. Susie said she sang the song at least 100 times. Saturday morning we got up and went to the zoo. It was a little hot, but Ella had a blast. Her favorite thing was the baby rhino and the merry-go-round. At first she could not figure the ride out, but after a few minutes she was giggling. The best thing for me to see is how much she laughed over the baby rhino. It came up to the glass and put its paw and face up against it. She kept saying 'O' for rhino. Every other animal she calls Shirley. My mom taught her this last week, so now she thinks every four legged animal, dog, etc... is Shirley. My mom is loving that one.
Ella showed off all of her new tricks. Bill and Susie could not believe how well she was walking with her walker and how expressive she was. Ella can communicate pretty well. She either points at what she wants or yells out "A A". Bill made the comment to me before they left this morning all you guys pretty much do is all about Ella. YEP, that sounds right. She is an active little girl.
We were sad to see them go, but we will see them in a few weeks for our family vacation to Charleston. I can not wait.
